Commencement

The first step to graduating with your Political Science degree is to apply for your degree on Duck Web. Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer graduates are welcome to participate in our Spring Commencement ceremony.

Degree application deadlines:
Fall - October 5, 2012
Winter - January 18, 2013
Spring - April 12, 2013
Summer - July 5, 2013

Spring Commencement: Monday, June 17, 2013

Students must register with the department if they plan to participate in spring commencement. Click the graduation cap at the end of this page and submit the registration form by June 3, 2013. All political science majors who are eligible to participate will be emailed details and instructions. We will also mail a letter to each student's permanent address.

Invitations and regalia (cap, gown, and tassel) can be ordered from the University of Oregon Duck Store. Graduation Images will photograph all graduates at the ceremony. Their website is www.gradimages.com.

We encourage graduates and their guests to also attend the University Graduation Celebration beginning with an academic parade to Matthew Knight Arena at 9:00 a.m. Details regarding this celebration are on a website provided by the Office of Student Life.

It is a good idea to start making hotel accommodations now. Travel Lane County put together a helpful website listing room availability for more that 60 venues in the Eugene/Springfield area. Their website is www.eugenecascadescoast.org/commencement/
