Commencement 2009

The Political Science faculty and staff invite graduates and their guests to attend the department's graduation ceremony and reception at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2009, on the East Lawn of the EMU. (In case of inclement weather, the ceremony and reception will be held at the covered tennis courts behind the Student Rec Center.)

This ceremony is for political science undergraduate and graduate majors. Graduating students will be individually recognized.

To participate, graduates were asked to complete the online commencement registration by Sunday, May 31. Graduates may also register at the event.

The ceremony will be approximately one hour long, and a reception with refreshments will follow. Please note that this is an outdoor ceremony where shade or covering may not be readily available; please plan accordingly.

The East Lawn is located adjacent to the Erb Memorial Union (EMU), with Carson Hall to the east and Straub Hall to the south. [map]

Graduates should arrive no later than 9:30 a.m. on graduation day and pick up instructions from the registration table from the southwest corner of the East Lawn.

We encourage graduates and their guests to also attend the university's main ceremony at 12:00 p.m. on the same day at McArthur Court. Details regarding this ceremony are on a website provided by the Office of Student Life.

Invitations and regalia (cap, gown, and tassel) can be ordered from the University of Oregon Duck Store.

If graduates or guests need special accommodations, please notify the department at (541) 346-4864.

Congratulations to all our graduates!
