PS 406 Legislative Internships must be set up by the student through the State Capitol and the Political Science office. Information on how this is accomplished with the State Capitol is available at the State Legislature's website.
A copy of the Capitol's Legislative Internship form is available at: http://www.leg.state.or.us/capinfo/regist.pdfSetting up the Political Science departmental component is the same as setting up a regular PS 406. Please refer to the above information regarding PS 406 Field Studies.
Summer Field Study papers will be due on Friday of the 10th week (same as other terms).
The Oregon University System offers IE3 Global Internships (International Education, Experience, Employment). Interns can earn PS credits. For more information, see the Political Science IE3 Internship Guidelines. Like PS 406, global internships require a signed approval/contract form. The IE3 Internship Contract can be downloaded or picked up from the Political Science office, 936 PLC. Refer to the IE3 website or UO Study Abroad Programs for more information.
The Political Science Peer Advisers and the UO Career Center are good sources for information about internships. In addition, the Political Science department offers a partial list of internships and other opportunities on the Postings for Majors webpage.
Questions regarding the Political Science Field Studies program may be directed to Priscilla Yamin, the 2009-10 coordinator.
