Political Science Peer Advising

Peer Advisors are available for both prospective and declared Political Science majors. They offer services similar to those provided by a faculty advisor, except they hold office hours more frequently.

Overview of Services

Peer advisors provide supplemental support to our fellow undergraduates in a casual friendly atmosphere. Services include:

• • answering questions about major and minor degree requirements
• • explaining the subfields
• • providing information about specific courses or instructors
• • what to do when you graduate
• • internships
• • information about graduate programs and schools
• • links to other campus support services
• • free peer editing of papers and essays

To become a peer advisor, applications are accepted each spring term to serve the next year. Watch for the spring announcement, or check in the spring with the peer advising supervisor, Professor Joe Lowndes: jlowndes@uoregon.edu
