…to the Department of Political Science at the University of Oregon.
We offer a broad range of courses organized in six traditional subfields of political science, each with their own designated faculty: comparative politics, formal theory and methodology, international relations, public policy, political theory, and U.S. politics.
Our faculty employ diverse theoretical and methodological approaches but share the pursuit of meaningful answers to big questions with real-world implications. As a Political Science major or minor, students will gain an in-depth understanding of how power, politics, and people converge.
To add depth and context to academic offerings, the department sponsors an annual series of distinguished speakers—experts in fields such as foreign policy, political theory, and international relations. This level of contact with political leaders makes the UO Department of Political Science a unique place to learn and prepare for a variety of careers.
